As I’ve noticed in all fitness centers and gyms I’ve been to, the most commonly used weight set is the bench press. It is a majorly loved workout. When done right, bench pressing can grow your triceps and pectorals to a nice muscular build. Unfortunately, not many people know what they’re doing when they hit the bench. Continue with this article and learn how you can maximize your bench pressing efficiency.
First of all, don’t only focus on the bench press. I often see men beasting out that machine and calling that their arms workout for the day. If you want to get the best results from bench pressing, you will need to build up your tricep muscles. Some of the great tricep workouts are as follows: close grip pushup, close grip bench press, tricep dip, and tricep extension. With a strong tricep strength base, handling heavier weights in the bench press will be easier and more effective.
Having incorrect technique is very common among bench pressers. A mistake I can admit to doing when I first started out was locking out my elbows. You should not lock out your elbows because all of the weight should stay on the chest and could damage your elbows otherwise. Gripping the barbell incorrectly is another common problem. A little trick I’ve come up with along the years to tell if I’m gripping it correctly is to see if my arms create 90 degree angles when the bar is down to my chest. Making sure your arms create ninety degree angles are a good sign that you’re doing something correctly. Bouncing the bar off your chest is also a common bad habit. When you’re bench pressing, have control over the bar and lift and push slowly to have the most effective workout.
Lastly, I’d suggest for you to find a solid routine. Most people lack discipline which inevitably causes them to fail at reaching their goals. Finding a solid routine is the best way I know how to prevent failure. Following a good workout plan will help you stay focused and will be much easier for you to manage your time and goals. A routine can either be self-made or assigned by a professional or coach.

Are Popular Weight Gain Diet Strategies Harmful To Bodybuilding Results?
Numerous bodybuilders pursue weight lifting to enhance self confidence levels, with some being overweight and needing both muscle gain and fat loss, while many others begin the process significantly below what they feel is a comfortable body weight, and because they consider themselves to be excessively thin, decide to pursue bodybuilding with the hopes of naturally rectifying this unwanted trait. The first place they visit for advice are either bodybuilding magazines or Internet web sites that offer weight gain diet techniques, and the feeling is, by following such eating strategies when combined with intense weight lifting, the body will begin to systematically gain weight, and appearance will greatly improve.
The flaw in such thinking is that many variables are necessary in constructing an effective muscle building routine, and when a weight lifter aims to gain weight, he or she is not seeking a larger waistline or a second chin, but rather lean muscle gains, which improve appearance and enhance body weight, accomplishing both goals simultaneously. Although most weight gain diet strategies are designed to accomplish their stated goal, which is to increase body weight, many accept this as a sign that such a plan is worth pursuing, but doing so fails to consider that the type of weight gained may be undesirable. A bodybuilding strategy can easily produce more body fat increase than muscle gain if designed improperly, and because of this, the term “weight gain diet” can easily refer to rapid, unnecessary and unwanted body fat increase.
Unfortunately, many bodybuilders are not aware of this fact, and pursue common bodybuilding weight gain diet strategies blindly, believing that such routines will lead to improved self confidence. Yet, in reality, they find that although the scale increases regularly, mirror appearance begins to worsen as the body accumulates massive amounts of fat, which is diametrically opposed to achieving bodybuilding caliber results. Despite this fact, many bodybuilders continue to follow such weight gain diet tactics, believing that if they remain persistent, their goals will become a reality, and if the scale continues to note progress, there is no need to change direction.
But after several months of such flawed weight gain diet practice, a bodybuilder will begin to feel the sense that he or she is unappealing physically, but for a far different reason, as body fat levels have hidden newly built muscle, and eliminated all definition, creating a physique that is far from aesthetically pleasing. If a bodybuilder continues to believe that he or she must weigh a certain amount to have achieved success, then body fat will remain, and the goal of developing a pleasing physical appearance will essentially become impossible, unless the bodybuilder’s diet routine changes dramatically.
The most important point to remember is that common weight gain diet plans overload the body with carbohydrates, causing a surge in body fat percentage, instead of properly balancing protein, carbohydrates and fat for sustained muscle gain, without rapid expansion of body fat levels. In many cases, body fat will need to rise as muscle is gained, since many metabolisms cannot increase muscle mass without some fat accumulation, but common weight gain diet techniques encourage the greatest amount of fat gain, as opposed to providing a balanced approach that offers consistent muscle building, while minimizing body fat increases. The more body fat that is accumulated during the weight gain process, the longer a bodybuilder must waste burning fat in the future, and the easier he or she will regain that body fat due to conditioning fat cells to accept a far higher level of body fat than otherwise would have been possible when following a properly designed bodybuilding weight gain diet strategy.
So, when attempting to rectify a thin frame, remember that the goal is to produce lean muscle gains and minimize body fat levels, which requires avoiding common weight gain diet advice which you will find plastered on the covers of bodybuilding magazines, and instead balance nutrients properly so that the body can receive sufficient food for consistent muscle gains, without the accompanying body fat intrusion. The worst possible scenario for a bodybuilder is to spend much time attempting to build muscle, while following a flawed weight gain diet strategy that causes body fat to encompass the vast majority of weight gained, so make sure to consider the importance of a correctly designed weight gain diet plan prior to embarking on a bodybuilding quest.

Are Steroids The Only Path To Massive Muscle Gain?
Steroids have been popular for many years, evolving from a habit that was once confined to professional bodybuilding and sports to a common high school recreational activity used to enhance speed, strength, and size beyond natural levels. Obviously, as with any substance that offers external results, since the changes are visibly apparent, those using such drugs are easily convinced that they are in fact healthier than before, yet temporary positive appearance changes are not always synonymous with what is occurring within.
In addition to those involved in sports who wish to improve performance, many underweight bodybuilders are interested in the fastest way to enhance muscle size, and when they see professional bodybuilders using massive amounts of drugs to produce 100+ pounds of additional muscle, they feel as if this must be the road to achieve what they perceive as success. Yet, what many fail to consider is that bodybuilding, a hobby that has always associated itself with healthy living, is actually transformed into a very dangerous, potentially life threatening pursuit when steroids or growth hormone become valid options.
There are two distinct groups that seem to have misconceptions of what can and cannot be achieved naturally; one extreme believes that the massively muscled bodies of professional bodybuilders on the cover of magazines can be produced without steroids, or with some legal supplement that substitutes for drugs, when in fact this is a completely false notion. To those who follow the industry closely, professional bodybuilders are known for their rampant, rather shocking level of drug abuse, and they would carry substantially less muscle mass if they were training naturally, even when using every available legal supplement available today. The other vast misconception mistakenly asserts the opposite, which is that no bodybuilder can gain significant muscle mass without using steroids, which is just as misleading. Although the size of professional steroid using bodybuilders cannot be achieved without embracing the same dangerous drugs habits, incredible improvements in muscle size and density are possible without ever touching a steroid, growth hormone, or any other performance enhancing drug.
Both groups need to become realistic, but in different ways; those who feel professional bodybuilding results can be achieved naturally must realize this is not so, and change their goal to one that is both possible and healthy to pursue, but they will also benefit from learning the second lesson for the opposing group, which is that by training and eating a certain way, the muscles can grow substantially, and a total transformation is possible without the use of steroids. The reason many are grasping for answers is that the physical fitness industry is plagued with misconceptions and false promises, therefore steroids enter the picture as the only apparent solution to significant physical appearance change, when in fact, most produce very little muscle gain not due to lack of drugs, but as a direct result of poor diet and training routines. When the variables that control muscle size (the workout and eating techniques) are rectified, progress should be satisfying and considered impressive for any normal thinking individual, and the risks of steroid use are averted in the process.
I started my weight training career at a weight of 130 pounds, and considering my height was above average (6’2″), my thin body was a catalyst behind my own weight lifting pursuits. Thankfully, by the grace of God I never used steroids, growth hormone, or any other such drug, but I had the same desire to grow as any other bodybuilder, yet knew that doing so within a natural framework was the only valid option. I then maximized my training and diet routine through years of experimentation, and gained over 60 pounds of muscle; many of those same individuals who are confused about how to achieve muscle gains accuse me of relying on steroids, but I can use my own success as proof to justify that building a massively muscled body is possible naturally. I also realize that with steroid use, I could gain another 50 pounds or more of mass, but does this bother me? No, not in the least, as I feel that preserving my health and well being by remaining natural is far more important than any level of additional muscle gain, and I hope every man and woman reading this article adjusts their bodybuilding ethics so they can also feel the same.
