Bodybuilding Muscle

Bodybuilding Muscle Versus Traditional Training: The Differences and Similarities

Depending on where you find yourself in the spectrum of fitness, you may view the steps to bodybuilding muscle as a different and more challenging set of steps than the average person takes in the gym. There is an extremist assumption wrongly associated with bodybuilding. The truth is the majority of people that are hitting the gym are “technically” bodybuilding. The dictionary defines bodybuilding as, “The process of developing the musculature of the body through specific types of diet and physical exercise, such as weightlifting, especially for competitive exhibition.”

So based upon that information, the only real difference between bodybuilding and the new neo-traditional view of working out is whether or not competition is the motivation for the gains. The physical benefits and results that people are getting from weight lifting are catching the eyes and ears of the American Heart Association, health and fitness magazines, and medical organizations across the globe. However, most people don’t realize that their workout, if it is designed to develop muscles or tone in the body, is strictly based upon sound bodybuilding principles.

People tend to think that bodybuilding is an island unto itself and its training techniques are either too monstrous or difficult for the average person to achieve. While bodybuilding muscle to increase mass has a differing end goal, a competition, the program itself is not a drastic departure.

Bodybuilding is actually much more prevalent in today’s mainstream fitness world than has ever been seen before. Sure, you may go into a gym and see the stereotypical lifter grunting and groaning his way to bulk, but what you may not notice is the svelte woman in the corner lifting “heavy”, or the middle aged man in the back with his six-pack squatting it out under the Smith machine.

Bodybuilding has taken on a new identity in the gym, and one that is progressively becoming the workout program of choice for all exercises despite age or gender.

How To Reverse The Causes of Ozone Layer Destruction

Since the causes of ozone layer depletion were identified, solutions were put into place to reduce or eliminate their usage. The U.S. Clean Air Act and the Montreal Protocols address the problem internationally. The goal of these treaties is to stop the damage to the ozone layer by phasing out known contributors.

Although there are numerous causes of ozone layer depletion, chloroflurocarbons have been identified as being the most damaging. These gases are used in many different industries in various ways. One example is the refrigerant gas used to run refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Chloroflurocarbons are also used in firefighting equipment, aerosols, the production of installed foam and anesthetics.

Years of research have determined that chloroflurocarbons top the list of causes of ozone layer depletion because they are not destroyed by rain or broken down in the lower atmosphere. Once they reach the stratosphere, the sun’s ultraviolet rays break down the compound, thus releasing chlorine. This resulting chlorine is what damages the ozone in a repetitive process. Unfortunately, the length of time chemicals cause destruction of the ozone depends upon the refrigerant being broken down, i.e. chlorine last for 2 years and other chemicals for much longer.

The main causes of ozone layer depletion are the gases fluorine, chlorine and bromine, which are found in manmade halocarbons. Ozone destruction and the depletion of important chemical compounds from the atmosphere were tied closely to chlorine and bromine where are both derivatives of refrigerant gases. Chlorine atoms result from chloroflurocarbons molecule, while bromine atoms result from halons. While chloroflurocarbons and halons are safe to use and cause no harm to the environment, they cause substantial damage to the stratosphere.

Free radicals, including hydroxyl, nitric oxide, atomic chlorine and bromine, are causes of ozone layer depletion. Currently, hydroxyl and nitric oxide occur in the stratosphere naturally. But chlorine and bromine are a result of human activity and their levels in the atmosphere are ever increasing.

The ozone layer protects the Earth from the full power of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. When it is depleted, the Earth simply receives more exposure to harmful radiation. Skin cancer will increase, the immune system in humans and animals will be weakened, plants will be damaged and plankton in oceans will be reduced. The entire balance of the earth’s life system will be impacted.

Once various compounds were identified as causes of ozone layer depletion, protocols were put into place to decrease their usage. They include the U.S. Clean Air Act and the Montreal Protocols. Their sole purpose is to reduce or phase-out substances that damage the ozone layer. Even with these efforts, it would take another century before these damaging substances totally disappear from the stratosphere. If the emissions of harmful refrigerant gases stops, the ozone layer has the ability to heal itself after a number of years. The length it takes to recuperate depends upon the type of refrigerant.

Way back to 1974 and the subsequent drafting of The Montreal Protocol, governments and scientific researchers documented the ozone depletion due to refrigerant gases. If the causes of ozone layer depletion are not addressed, the end result would be global warming. As the temperature of the earth rises, weather events, like more droughts and stronger hurricanes, would occur and ice caps and glaciers would melt. As the ozone layer continues to wear down, the earth would be in direct contact with the sun’s heat and its damaging ultraviolet rays.

Asbestos Exposure Cancer and Lymphoid Structures

Inhalation of asbestos fibers can lead to a deadly form of cancer called mesothelioma.  Some theories posit that asbestos can actually travel through the blood stream and enter organs like the kidney, or even the brain.  One interesting study is called, “Asbestos Exposure and Gastrointestinal Malignancy Review and Meta-Analysis” by Howard Frumkin, MD, Jesse Berlin – American Journal of Industrial Medicine – Volume 14 Issue 1, Pages 79 – 95 Jan 2007.  Here is an excerpt:  “Abstract – The epidemiologic literature linking asbestos exposure with gastrointestinal malignancy is reviewed. Problems in comparing studies are discussed, appropriate strategies for comparison are developed, and study results are pooled using a model which accounts for both intrastudy and interstudy variability. Stratification of cohorts by dose reveals that significant asbestos exposure, as indicated by a lung cancer standardized mortality ratio (SMR) of at least 200, is associated with an elevated gastrointestinal cancer SMR for five or six end points examined.”

Another interesting study is called, “Migration of Asbestos Fibres from Subcutaneous Injection Sites in Mice” by K. Kanazawa, M. S. C. Birbeck, R. L. Carter, and F. J. C. Roe – Br J Cancer. 1970 March; 24(1): 96–106.   Here is an excerpt: “Crocidolite asbestos fibres, suspended in physiological saline, were injected subcutaneously into one or both flanks of 95 CBA/Lac female mice; 75 control mice received injections of saline only. Most animals were killed at chosen intervals of between 2 and 42 days after injection but some were left for longer periods of up to 623 days. At autopsy, many lymphoid and non-lymphoid structures were removed and examined for the presence of asbestos by the following techniques: haematoxylin and eosin staining followed by conventional and polarized light microscopy; Perl’s stain; microincineration followed by phase-contrast microscopy; maceration with KOH followed by phase-contrast microscopy; and electron microscopy.A combination of haematoxylin and eosin staining and microincineration was found to be the most convenient and reliable method for demonstrating asbestos fibres in the tissues. Electron microscopy was essential for detecting very small fibres and for locating them to specific intracellular structures.  The morphological findings indicate that some migration of asbestos fibres away from the initial site of injection takes place. Dissemination is usually along lymphatic pathways and fibres tend to accumulate in the lymphoid tissues, particularly in the regional (axillary) lymph nodes; smaller amounts were found in inguinal, mediastinal and lumbar nodes. The fibres were usually intracellular, lying inside the phagosomes of macrophages, but larger fibres were sometimes encountered lying free. Small numbers of fibres were seen in the spleen and also in non-lymphoid organs such as the liver, kidneys and brain—suggesting that some asbestos may enter the blood stream. There was no evidence of massive or selective spread to subserosal tissues in the thorax or abdomen, though trapping of asbestos fibres was observed in pleural “milky spots” in long-term survivors. The possible role of milky spots in the development of pleural plaques and mesotheliomata is discussed.

A third article worth looking at is called, “Asbestos inhalation induces reactive nitrogen species and nitrotyrosine formation in the lungs and pleura of the rat.” By S Tanaka, N Choe, D R Hemenway, S Zhu, S Matalon, and E Kagan – Department of Pathology, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, Bethesda, Maryland 20814-4799- J Clin Invest. 1998 July 15; 102(2): 445–454.

Here is an excerpt: “To determine whether asbestos inhalation induces the formation of reactive nitrogen species, three groups of rats were exposed intermittently over 2 wk to either filtered room air (sham-exposed) or to chrysotile or crocidolite asbestos fibers. The rats were killed at 1 or 6 wk after exposure. At 1 wk, significantly greater numbers of alveolar and pleural macrophages from asbestos-exposed rats than from sham-exposed rats demonstrated inducible nitric oxide synthase protein immunoreactivity. Alveolar macrophages from asbestos-exposed rats also generated significantly greater nitrite formation than did macrophages from sham-exposed rats. Strong immunoreactivity for nitrotyrosine, a marker of peroxynitrite formation, was evident in lungs from chrysotile- and crocidolite-exposed rats at 1 and 6 wk. Staining was most evident at alveolar duct bifurcations and within bronchiolar epithelium, alveolar macrophages, and the visceral and parietal pleural mesothelium. Lungs from sham-exposed rats demonstrated minimal immunoreactivity for nitrotyrosine. Significantly greater quantities of nitrotyrosine were detected by ELISA in lung extracts from asbestos-exposed rats than from sham-exposed rats. These findings suggest that asbestos inhalation can induce inducible nitric oxide synthase activation and peroxynitrite formation in vivo, and provide evidence of a possible alternative mechanism of asbestos-induced injury to that thought to be induced by Fenton reactions.”

If you found any of these studies interesting, please read them in their entirety.  We all owe a debt of gratitude to these fine researchers.

Build Lean Muscle Mass

Proper Nutrition And Building Lean Muscle Mass

If you are someone who is looking for a way to build lean muscle mass then by reading this article you may find an answer to your problems. Certainly there is lots of information now readily available on the internet which can help you to build much better lean muscle mass than you ever thought and not all of it through the use of supplements.

In order to build lean muscle mass effectively you need to look closely at just how much weight you are lifting and the intensity of the workouts that you are carrying out. The only really good way of gaining lean muscle mass is through high intensity workouts as well as lifting heavy weights. So if you are not seeing the results that you would have expected then it may be because you are not actually working out hard enough or pushing yourself hard enough in order to achieve your goals.

The top 10 tenents of proper nutrition and building lean muscle mass to be discussed in this article include protein, carbohydrates, fats, eating more frequently and pretraining meals, pretraining nutrition, post workout nutrition, nitric oxide, growth hormone, and BCAA’s.

1. Protein: Never underestimate the significance of protein in your diet. Of all the macronutrients nothing is more valuable than protein in assisting your muscles in growth and repair. The common rule of thumb is to consume 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight on a daily basis. If you find that recovering from a workout or adding size is becoming a struggle or you are not achieving the results that you want you can try to up your protein intake to 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight.

2. Carbohydrates: Consider carbohydrates as having a dual function in your mass building efforts. If you want to maximize growth you need to have an adequate carbohydrate supply. When digested carbs will convert into glucose which can be used as immediate fuel or a source of energy during your workouts. When the body has surplus stores of glucose it will be used as muscle glycogen which is stored energy that can influence your body’s ability to recover as well as its endurance for exercise. Carbohydrates can also influence muscular growth because they help boost insulin levels. Insulin in turn helps move amino acids into the muscles which can ultimately enhance growth.

3. Fats: Many bodybuilders will shy away from fats as they are trying to create a slim and muscular appearance. The good fats, mono and polyunsaturated fats, can play a significant role when trying to achieve greater muscle mass. Fat will work within the body to help decrease the burning of both glucose and amino acids. The more slowly your body burns glucose or amino acids the more readily available these components are in assisting muscular growth. Restricting the fat in your diet can also minimize the production of testosterone which will limit your ability to achieve greater muscle mass.

4. Meal Frequency: If you’ve been involved in weightlifting or body building for any length of time you have likely heard that it is better to eat 5 or 6 small meals spread throughout the day vs. 3 bigger meals. The idea behind this is to supply your system with nonstop distribution of nutrients to encourage continuous muscle healing and growth. If you tend to eat fewer and larger meals then your system will respond with bloating, poor absorption of nutrients and increased fat storage. Plan your meals and in between snacks so you are consuming some nutrients every 2 to 3 hours.

5. Pretraining Meals: It’s in no way recommended to eat a huge, heavy meal prior to working out but a well-proportioned preworkout meal can work wonders to helping you accomplish a productive workout followed by solid recovery. Eating a well-balanced preworkout meal can help raise your level of insulin which will help decrease the amount of tissue damage that goes along with aggressive training. Elevated insulin levels with an acceptable supply of amino acids can minimize the affects of muscle fiber breakdown during your workouts.

6. Pretraining Nutrition: As discussed in the first article in this series a well proportioned pretraining meal is recommended to give your body a constant supply to give your body the appropriate nutrients it needs to help minimize muscle breakdown as well as give you the energy to help you get through your workouts. However, in some cases eating before working out can cause some individuals to become bloated and lethargic no matter how well they proportion their preworkout meal.

In these cases it is recommended that you substitute a pretraining workout meal with a nutritional protein shake. This kind of shake can consist of 20 grams of whey protein and 20 to 40 grams of a fast acting carbohydrate or some variation of that combination. Consuming this type of meal before or during training can help minimize muscle fiber breakdown.

7. Post Workout Nutrition: consuming adequate post workout nutrition gives you the opportunity to jump start the muscle rebuilding and growth process. when you finish a workout that is when your muscles are hungriest for macronutrients. This is the time when your muscles can utilize protein and carbohydrates to begin the muscle repair process and growth. Since your muscles are so hungry for proteins and carbohydrates after a workout it is a good idea to consume a protein shake consisting of 40 to 60 grams of whey protein combined with easy to digest carbohydrates in the area of 40 to 100 grams. When you consume this combination of macronutrients post workout they will assist in minimizing the muscle wasting effect of the hormone cortisol.

8. Nitric Oxide: Nitric oxide is a compound that is facilitated to the use of arginine based products consumed before training. Arginine is an amino acid that facilitates nitric oxide release. Nitric oxide (NO) has an expansionary function which means it facilitates blood flow to the major muscles. Increased blood flow to the muscles promotes muscle recruitment and the repair process thus stimulating growth in muscle mass.

9. Growth Hormone: Growth hormone is naturally occurring in the body. This hormone helps burn bodyfat, build muscle mass as well as increasing insulin like growth factors. These are hormones that help promote the muscle building process. OUr bodies will naturally release growth hormones primarily while we’re trainnig and while we are sleeping. You can augment the release of growth hormone by utilizing or consuming 7 to 10 grams of arginine before bed. It is a good idea to avoid carbs before bedtime as increased glucose in our systems can potentially minimize growth hormone output.

10. Branched Chain Amino Acids: These amino acids play an important role as far as supplements go. They have a significant effect in blocking muscle tissue breakdown, increasing protein synthesis and suppressing other hormones that might interfere with the recovery process. The recommended dose to be taken in 5 to 10 grams both before and after your workouts. There is also evidence to suggest branched chained amino acids may help keep testosterone levels from falling.

And remember that it doesn’t take long to build up the muscle mass you want, but it doesn’t happen overnight either. If you keep up with your routine and make sure to incorporate these tips, you may be surprised at the results you see. And of course if you’re still not getting the results you want, ask a personal trainer for some help or find a workout program online that has proven results in helping people in gaining lean muscle mass.

Nitric Oxide Testimonials

Weight Loss Diet Plan, The Complete Trim Detox Way

The increasing obesity issues in our country have turned the attention of many people towards exploring new means of loosing weight. Many people have exploited this trend and today one finds numerous weight loss diet plans that promise the moon. The innumerable options for loosing weight that one can find cover weight loss diets, diet pills, body wraps, health spas and even weight loss surgery. The weight loss diets themselves range from more popular ones like Atkins diet and GM diet to others like the South Beach weight loss diet. Some programs suggest a low fat intake whereas others recommend a low carb curriculum. The latest fad going around is the low glycemic index weight loss diet. There are also the meal replacements and meal providers that have found favor with many.

The choices offered are so abundant that one is often left confused about which one to chose for oneself. Though there are many testimonials going around, one does not know what combination of weight loss diet and change in lifestyle actually caused the weight loss. Also, though the details of the weight loss diet are mentioned, the manner in which it works is either not specified or extremely vague and ambiguous. To add to it all, most of these weight loss diet plans are temporary and short lived, the effect of which wears off in a few months. This yoyo effect is caused by the fact that most of these weight loss diets do not address the core of the issue. Why is it that some people seem to continue to put on weight in spite of the fact that they eat less?

The root cause of this enigmatic answer lies in the fact that gain in weight is fundamentally linked to cellular activity and unless that is addressed the problem of weight gain cannot be uprooted from the core.

Weight gain occurs when the amount of energy (or food) ingested in the system is more than the energy utilized by the body for various activities. About 95% of the entire energy produced in the body comes from the process performed by the mitochondria. Any factor that disrupts the efficient working of the mitochondria shall result in a decrease in the amount of energy used.

If the body is not completely detoxed, the toxins ooze out into the bloodstream through interstitial walls and cause the mitochondria to dysfunction. The mitochondria are small cylinder shaped tissues that produce energy from the food that we consume. The structure of these powerhouses of the cell is so similar to that of bacteria that they are greatly affected by excessive intake of antibiotics, magnesium, metals and toxins. Such toxic substances affect the immune system that produces nitric oxide, which in turn harm the mitochondria further.

Other factors that can also contribute to weight gain are improper diet, stress, organ dysfunctions, metabolic defects, nutritional factors and lack of exercise. Unless all these factors that contribute to issues that result in weight gain are addresses completely, you may be able to achieve short-lived reduction in weight by following one of the weight loss diet programs, but are unlikely to obtain long lasting weight loss results that ensure that your years ahead are healthy and full of success.

There is no medicine or pill that can cure mitochondria dysfunction and the only way to deal with this issue is to obliterate the factors that have caused the dysfunction in the first place. Addressing only the symptoms of the inefficiencies of the mitochondria (in this case the weight gain) by resorting to weight loss diets, ensure that the problem will reoccur.
A complete detox program addresses all the factors that can cause an increase in weight. Not only does it get the mitochondria to work and produce energy as efficiently as it did before but also wipe out stress, organ, metabolic defects and all the causes of weight gain listed above. Unlike a weight loss diet that aims at removing the symptoms, a complete detox program has a holistic approach that not only ensure that you loose those extra inches but also keeps it off and gives you higher energy and vitality to add life to your years. You can wear all the clothes that you dreamed of donning and make each day of your life a celebration!

Muscle Building Supplement – Best Supplements For Muscle Building

Muscle Building Supplement

Building muscle, serious muscle is hard work and just eating right, working hard and being dedicated isn’t always enough. Sometimes a bodybuilder needs some help and they get that from the knowing the best supplements for muscle building. There is no one, all-powerful supplement and it takes using a few to get the right combination for each person. Knowing what supplements are important to a bodybuilder can fall into one of the following basic categories:

• Muscle Building

• Energy Production

• Muscle Recovery

Let’s break down what the best bodybuilding supplements are in each of these groups.

Muscle Building It’s no secret that, if you want to build muscle, you need to get a good amount of protein into your system on a pretty regular basis. Protein is one of, if not the premier supplement for building muscle. When this is coupled with creatine, the results can be enormous as creatine is mainly found in the skeletal muscle system. These two supplements work hand in hand like no others. Protein and creatine can be gained through fish, chicken and red meats as well as supplement powder, pill and meal replacements. The combination of these two are a potent combination for bodybuilders. Muscle Building Supplement

Energy Production When it’s time to talk about energy and making sure a bodybuilder has enough to perform at their best, we are taking about carbohydrates. Carbohydrates help to provide energy and stamina during a workout. Complex carbohydrates are also known to aid in rapidly degrading the enzymatic process. Carbohydrates can be obtained through various foods as well as a powder supplement added to a liquid.

Muscle Recovery The way a muscle grows in size is during the recovery phase. As the muscle recovers from a workout, the way the body protects and repairs the muscle is by making more of it. As time goes on, the repairing process builds the muscle up more and more until you have bulging biceps and ripped legs. Vital to this process are a few different supplements and of these is glucosamine. Muscle Building Supplement

Glucosamine aids greatly in the recovery of damaged tissues, such as muscles, from rigorous workouts. One thing to note about this particular supplement is that bodybuilders with seafood type allergies should stay away from glucosamine as it may trigger the food allergy.

These are some of the best muscle building supplements any bodybuilder can use to increase their performance and build great looking muscles. Muscle Building Supplement

Build Muscle Without Weights

Build Muscle Without Weights: What To Expect

I’ve always been impressed with the physiques of Military personnel and gymnasts, haven’t you? I mean, they many not be the biggest people with bulging muscles. But their lean, athletically muscular body both looks great and hints of high performance.

It is a shame most people think you need to lift weights to build an attractively muscular, strong, functional body. Bodyweight exercises also build muscle, and in my opinion, a more useful type of muscle than weight lifting alone.

Most Exercisers Think You Need To Lift Weights To Build Muscle

Let’s be honest… lifting weights is the best way to build muscle. But that doesn’t mean you can’t build muscle without weights. It just means if is best if you are looking to MAXIMIZE muscle size.

But maximizing your muscles is not necessarily the goal of all exercisers. I for one, don’t want the bulky, pumped up muscles of a bodybuilder. I prefer tight, solid muscle that is strong and powerful in moving my own body and weighted objects equally well.

The point is, who cares if weight lifting is the best for building muscle if it doesn’t fit your goals. After all, you don’t need a Ferrari to go to the corner store.

Military Calisthenics Builds Muscle Without Weights

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to see someone before and after they go through Basic Training, you’ll know what I’m talking about here. After a few months of Basic Training (which is predominantly bodyweight exercises), the new recruit is leaner, stronger and more musclular. You can see it in the way they carry themselves. And the great thing is, this is useful muscle and not just pumped up muscles.

Gymnasts Are An Example Of What Can Be Achieved With Bodyweight Exercises

If you are still in doubt that you can build muscle without weights, just take a look at a gymnast. Those muscles and fine physique are build by moving their own bodyweight around. And you have to be impressed with the level of strength, explosive power and physical ability they posses.

Many Former Weight Lifters Report More Functional Muscle

In my own experience teaching people to use bodyweight exercise, many men and women have said that they feel, look and perform better than they did when they just lifted weights. While their muscles might not be the biggest they’ve ever been, they are more useful. They are better suited for meeting the challenges of sport, work and life with excellence. (And really, isn’t that why you should be exercising in the first place?)

You can build muscle without weights. And while if might not build bigger muscles than weight lifting, I would argue it builds a better quality of muscle. Just try a bodyweight only program for a few months and you’ll see what I mean.

Strength Training Weight

Strength Training: 10 Things you Must Know

Lets face it everybody knows that strength training builds muscle but did you know that it does more much more for you in the health stakes. Lets have a look at these strength training tips one by one and you will see what a difference this valuable tool will make to your general health:

Weights Improve Immunity – Immune strength depends on the availability of the amino acid glutamine and your muscles have to supply the glutamine to your immune system in order for it to work.

The more muscle you have the more abundant the glutamine supply, and other things being equal, the better your immune system works.

Weights Grow Bone – A study at Stanford University showed clearly that about 20% of bone mineral density is dependent on maintaining muscle.

A new study reported in February 2000 in the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows that even in elderly women, a one-year weight-training program increased their strength by 20-30%, with a significant increase in bone density.

Weights Combat Diabetes – New studies published between 1995 and 2000 show that weight training has an unexpected benefit – it improves glucose tolerance in patients with Type 2 (adult-onset) diabetes.

In one of these studies, post-menopausal women with diabetes followed a weight-training program for four months. Their glucose sensitivity to a challenge improved by an average of 29%.

Weights Wack Arthritis – At Tufts University in the USA, researches gave patients with rheumatoid arthritis 10 weeks of high-intensity weight training.

Results showed significant reductions in joint pain and fatigue and a big gain in strength. Results showed that the weight work caused a significant decline in arthritis activity.

Weights Raise Testosterone – Did you know that strength training is one of the best exercises to raise testosterone levels in men and women! With strength training the levels of both testosterone and growth hormone rise dramatically.

Since loss of strength and muscle mass are the prime causes of most age-related diseases a lifelong strength training program is one of the best insurance polices for a better quality of life for both men and women.

Avoid Muscle Loss – although endurance exercise improves our cardiovascular fitness, it does not prevent the loss of muscle tissue.

Only strength training maintains our muscle mass and strength throughout our mid-life years. After the age of 20 up to 1/2 pound of muscle tissue is lost per year in both males and females owing to the normal ageing process.

By Strength Training once a week using all the major muscle groups until you are unable to push each exercise for another repetition, 3-4 exercises, and 15 -20 minutes max training time. Keep getting stronger, Smile, be positive and live life.

Avoid Metabolic Rate Reduction – because muscle is very active tissue, muscle loss is accompanied by a reduction in our resting metabolism.

Research indicates that an average adult experiences a 5% reduction in metabolic rate every decade of life. Only high intensity strength training performed once or twice a week with prescribed rest periods can avoid this.

Increase Muscle Mass – because most adults do not perform strength exercise, they need to first replace the tissue that has been lost through inactivity. Fortunately research shows that a standard strength training program can increase muscle mass by about 4 kg or 10 lbs over a ten-week period.

Increase Metabolic Rate – Research reveals that adding 10 lbs of muscle increases our resting metabolism by 7% and our daily calorie requirements by 15%.

At rest, 2 lbs of muscle requires 77 calories per day for tissue maintenance and during exercise, muscle energy utilization increases dramatically.

Adults who replace muscle through sensible strength exercise use more calories all day long thereby reducing the likelihood of fat accumulation.

Reduce Body Fat – In a 1994 study, strength exercise produced 10 lbs of fat loss after two months of training, even though the subjects were eating 155 more calories per day.

That is, a basic strength-training program resulted in 8 lbs more muscle, 10 lbs less fat and more calories per day food intake.

Increase Bone Mineral Density – The effects of progressive resistance exercise are similar for muscle tissue and bone tissue.

The same training stimulus that increases muscle strength also increases bone density and mineral content. A 1993 study demonstrated significant increases in the bone mineral density of the upper femur after four months of strength training.

So, now you can go ahead with your strength training endeavours knowing that you will be experiencing all these benefits found in the above tips.

Anabolic Steroid Alternatives For Muscle Building

Anabolic Steroid Alternatives

If you find yourself flipping through the pages of the popular muscle building magazines, pictures of immensely muscular men (and even women) will undoubtedly stand out. One of the first thoughts that usually pops into someone’s mind about these cartoonish-looking behemoths is; “They’re on steroids.” If you are aspiring to pack on pounds of new muscle but do not want to go down that route, you may be wondering; “What are some anabolic steroid alternatives?”

Science has made many breakthroughs in the world of legal muscle builders. Whether you are looking for an herbal testosterone booster, or you want to try a popular prohormone, there are a variety of steroid alternatives out there that may help you meet your muscle gaining goals. Some of the benefits you may notice while using these natural anabolic steroid alternatives are:

· More muscle mass
· Increased testosterone levels
· Faster muscle recovery
· Better sex drive
· Energy levels are increased
· Reduced body fat

In the realm of herbal testosterone boosters, Tribulus Terrestris has been around for years as a steroid alternative. While the Tribulus herb has been around for years, it wasn’t until the 1990’s that bodybuilders and athlete’s alike began to use it for its potential muscle building properties. Tribulus does not act directly on testosterone production, but rather it stimulates the body’s production of luteinizing hormone, or LH. An increase in LH tells your body to naturally produce more testosterone.

Another popular and all natural testosterone booster is ZMA. ZMA is the combination of the two minerals – zinc and magnesium aspartate. In men, the prostate has one of the highest concentrations of zinc, and supplemental zinc helps to naturally produce more testosterone. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer, and helps to induce a deeper and better quality sleep. For this reason, ZMA products are best taken before bed. The ZMA combination is also very beneficial to muscle recovery after those hard-hitting workouts.

Prohormones have been steadily gaining popularity in the bodybuilding world. Even the mainstream sports were riding the prohormone wave (remember all the media attention Mark McGuire was getting when a bottle of androstene was found in his locker?) These anabolic supplements have often been praised as “legal anabolic steroids.” A prohormone is actually a precursor to a hormone. This means that they are not hormones themselves, but once they are ingested, the idea is that they will be converted by your body into an actual hormone through a chemical process. There is a lot of science behind this process, and I will spare you the boredom from that today.

Bodybuilders and professional athletes have been using these steroid alternatives for years as a way to avoid steroid laws and health risks. If you are not the type of person who wants the risk involved in using anabolic steroids, it is clear to see that there are many legal alternatives available to you. There is no need to burden your mind and your conscience with the risk involved in buying and using anabolic steroids.

Lose Fat Not Muscle

Build Muscle Lose Fat – Build Muscle, Lose Fat With A Boot Camp Workout

Build Muscle Lose Fat

Every year individuals look frantically for ways to get ripped, trim and fit. Sometimes the answer is not as challenging as they expected. For a long time now, millions of ordinary and unfit people have joined the armed services and set off to boot camp. The experience forces them into great shape in no time flat.

Many people who have signed up to enroll in the military and attended boot camp are amazed that a first-class boot camp workout is an extremely practical technique to shed weight, get healthy and robust very promptly.

A high-quality boot camp workout might blast every muscle in your body and reduce your belly fat extremely quickly than anything else presented out on the fitness circuit. I stripped of thirty pounds from getting my butt kicked at boot camp and discovered it is absolutely an exceptionally proficient approach of getting lean. If you are searching all over the place for a way to reduce unwanted weight without delay and you need to get firm fast, make an effort to check out these boot camp exercises in the privacy of your own home to see for yourself how challenging they could in fact be.

The recommended stretching routines that are practiced can dramatically shrink the possibility of harm for your muscle groups, tendons, and joints. They work to reduce stress, pressure and pain to muscular tissues. Boot camp workouts are doing admirably in getting rid of a lot of extra flab as well as getting rid of those manly spare tire waistlines carried around by men. Build Muscle Lose Fat

In case you are too chicken of make it to the fitness center and blast out some free weights, universal machines, or some kind of the other expensive apparatus they carry, you are going to be pleased to hear that you don’t need them. The military has validated year after year that boot camp workouts are the fastest most dependable system used for getting a massive amount of people into shape each year.

I’ve used assorted strategies of exercise and diet to burn off mass all through the last twenty five or more years and I be able to let you know that my 13 weeks on training shed weight more rapidly than most other systems I ever tried. The nearest idea I did to lifting weights was pull ups almost certainly the best bodyweight workout plans that can be finished for arms and back.

The very best skill to using up body fat rapidly is with the use of training to get your metabolism revved up so that post additional oxygen restoration takes more time. This easily ensures that the body is using a lot of oxygen to get over the exercises. Remember that oxygen burns calories. High calorie consumption means an increased metabolism in addition a lot more unwanted weight burned off. Build Muscle Lose Fat

Without the need for a lot of workout gear or a fitness coach, it is very simple to sneak in a quick twenty to thirty minute workout at your home or apartment. For anybody who’s a stay-at- home mom or just house bound, you can quickly insert a workout and be done while the children are snoozing or while attending school. It is simple to add a small number of pieces of workout equipment at minimal expense like a stability ball, pull up bar, or jump rope to include some diversity and challenge for more than just bodyweight exercises.

An extra bonus exercise to incorporate is jumping rope. It may well seem painless but from the moment you need to do 200 – 300 jumps for 60 seconds, followed by a set of burpees, then finish off with jumping jacks; you can be entirely out of breath. This can doubtless be one of the simplest boot camp workout programs around when done at the end of the circuit. Try boot camp workout to get fit and trim. Build Muscle Lose Fat
